Korean Association of TCVM

Welcome to the Korean Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (KATCVM), a chapter of the World Association of TCVM. Established in 2024, KATCVM's primary mission is to offer support and resources to veterinary professionals in South Korea practicing any of the branches of TCVM: acupuncture, food therapy, Chinese herbal medicine, and Tui-na to enhance animal care throughout South Korea.

Dr. Sakyeng Shin received a DVM from Chungnam National University in 1995. With a passion for TCVM, Dr. Shin obtained multiple certifications, including Acupuncture (CVA), Herbal Medicine (CVCH), Food Therapy (CVFT), and Tui-na (CVTP), culminating to the prestigious title of Certified TCVM Practitioner (CTCVMP). In 2017, she became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT). She then later continued her studies of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida and Seoul National University. As the Director of VIP Animal Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Shin serves as Director of VIP Animal Traditional Medicine & Rehabilitation Center by Dr. Shin, a premier facility dedicated to providing personalized care for companion animals. She also holds influential roles as Director of Chi University-South Korea and Board Member of WATCVM.

Dr. Sangmin Na obtained a DVM from Seoul National University in 2008. He became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) in 2019 and obtained certifications in Herbal Medicine (CVCH) and Food Therapy (CVFT) in the same year. In 2023, he furthered his expertise by completing the Certified Veterinary Tui-na Practitioner (CVTP) program. Currently serving as the Chief of VIP Animal Traditional Medicine & Rehabilitation Center by Dr. Shin, Dr. Na leads a team dedicated to providing exceptional care for companion animals. He also contributes to the field as a teaching assistant for Chi University's CVA course and has been recognized for his expertise with the ICTCVM Excellent Speaker Award in 2023.

Secretary: Jung Youn Park DVM, CVA

Dr. Jung Youn Park earned a DVM from Konkuk University in 2009. In 2016, he became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) and currently serves as a teaching assistant for CVA courses and the Director of Gyeong-in Animal Medical Center.

Treasurer: Wook Jin Park DVM, CVA

Dr. Wook Jin Park received a DVM from Chungnam National University in 1995. In 2016, she became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) and currently serves as a teaching assistant for CVA courses. She is also pursuing certifications in Herbal Medicine, Food Therapy, and Tui-na. Dr. Park holds the position of Director at Jangpyeong Animal Hospital.
